The National Association of Black Military Women recognizes and honors the life and military service of Bertha Dupre who served in France with the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all African American female unit, during WWII. Later, she was called to stateside duty for the Korean War.  She ultimately rose to the rank of MSG.

Regrettably, upon her passing in December, 2018 her body was not claimed.  Through acts of kindness, arrangements have now been made for a service at Powles Station Funeral Home, Roswell, N.C., at 9:30 am on March 22nd.  Subsequently she will be laid to rest, with full military honors at 11am, at Salisbury National Cemetery, North Carolina.  The public is encouraged to attend.

NABMW members and supporters who can are asked to attend if possible.
